This map looks incredibly cool, but when you wrote "people will always go just a little bit further than where they can comfortably survive." I *felt* that! Your worldbuilding is fascinating, and the map shows it so well!

Oh thank you so much, I'm so glad you spotted that! It's something I just adore about humans, you can take us to the most inhospitable places and some of us will go, "yep, I can make that work". Such a fun and fascinating part of our psychology, and I'm definitely going to be having some of my more 'southerly' characters complaining about it to Enna haha! Thanks so much for reading, it means the world to me ❀️

Thank you so much for this! I've had a fair few people on TikTok telling me they don't like the names, so it's such a relief to hear you do!! I can't recommend Inkarante enough, I waste hours and hours making maps for things nobody will ever see... but having an amazing time anyway!

I am so so excited for this so many concepts come to mind. The concept feels fresh which is lovely. Would there be any sub bending ? I cannot help but think of some ideas from avatar the last airbender (absolutely brilliantly written cartoon, pls watch it@)

Thank you so much, this is so kind of you to say! I've had quite a few people say it reminds them of ATLA, which I think is inevitable with anything so heavily based on the elements in this way. I've only ever watched a couple of episodes myself and I will probably avoid the rest while I'm writing this to avoid being too heavily influenced, but I want to go back to it once I'm done!

My idea is for there to be a great deal of variation in each Court as to how they interact with the element in question, and the divisions in magic aren't strictly defined – each Court kind of 'learned' their specific branch of magic and passed it down to their kids, so it's very firmly embedded culturally but it's not a biological imperative. Some have the ability to learn other Courts' magic with relative ease (the way some of us in real life can pick up languages easily!) while others struggle to master even their own. So because it's so varied there aren't any strict sub-types of magic users, but I do want to incorporate some groups who study/follow quite extreme styles of magic use, like a Fire Court collective who are a little too involved with the dormant volcano...
